Rui Jesus
Rui Jesus is an Adjunct Professor at Department of Electronics, Telecommunications and Computers Engineering, ISEL/IPL since 2002 where he teaches courses on Multimedia Authoring, Interactive Multimedia Applications and Mobile Design and, he is the coordinator of the Masters course on Informatics an Multimedia Engineering. He is also an integrated researcher at NOVA LINCS research center and since 2022, the coordinator of the NOVA LINCS branch at ISEL. His main research objectives are related to image and video analysis in personal and collective memories and the exploitation of natural (affective) user interfaces for entertainment, cultural heritage and communication of natural disasters risks. He has been involved in several research projects with other academic research centres and with industrial companies, such as, PAFSE (EU-funded project), MOBILIZE, ASER-META, DigiT FUP, VideoFlow, InStory, Crossing Borders and Crush. Rui Jesus supervised 2 PhD students and he is the advisor of 3 ongoing PhD students. He also supervised about 20 master students and currently he supervises 5 MSc students. He has authored and co-authored more than 65 publications in peer-reviewed journals and conferences.
